During last week, we are busy preparing the talent show. After finishing all the midterm exams, we are out of stress about study for a while.
Last Wednesday, we spent another wonderful class again. At the beginning of the class, we wrote some thank you notes to others. I received some thank you note from my classmates. I appreciated their encouragements as well as gratitude. I am full of energy after reading all these materials. The design of this class is so great! During the class, some main characters were doing their rehearsal. Most unforgettable is that Dr. Udani preformed a beautiful song. The melody was so great that we were very impressed. I appreciated the hard work of all the executives. Tammy created an excellent script. The whole story is about a girl chasing the dream. After reading the whole script. I understand that life is a struggle, whatever we are struggling with, encouragement is a great medicine to cure people. It helps to hear some encouragements from whoever around us that reminds us that we are all take knocks in life. The best things in life come through persistence. Also, courage is really important in chasing our dreams.“You know, sometimes all you need is 20 seconds of insane courage. Just literally 20 seconds of embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it.” — We Bought a Zoo. Without courage, I can not make it in the HC. I will not even submit the application. Courage can really make great changes in people's life. I am looking forward to this talent show and I hope we will have a wonderful time during the last few weeks of the semester.
It is few days before the Easter holiday. The holiday is relatively long and much more eventful. I am planning to Shenzhen and have fun with my friends. Hope everything goes well and God bless all of you!
During last few weeks, we were discussing about motivation and coaching. The motto" never give up" is frequently quoted whenever a person embarks on an embarks on an endeavor. Though simple in words, motivation helps one maintain outages in the face of difficulties and inspires him to continue with his effort persistently. It is motivation that keep us trying and never stop working toward a goal.To begin with, one should never give up any attempts to conquer obstacles in the way of reaching a goal. If Thomas Edison had give up his experiments after his numerous trials and setbacks, he would never have succeeded in inventing so many useful devices for human beings. I also have some personal experiences. For instance, everything I meet some difficult in studying, I usually encourage myself to solve the problem. The expectations from my parents and friends act as one important motivation in my life. I want to realize my dream so that the dreams keeps pushing me to work harder.
As long as a goal has been set, one ought to stick to it and never give up. To some extent, working without a target is like voyaging on the ocean without a beacon. Once it has been set, there is no excuse for me to abandon it. Instead, I should lock it firmly in his heart. If the goal is remembered, there is always hope to reach it. In the "comfortable" university life, we may easily give up out goals. For example, I decided to exercise everyday to keep fit. But hanging out with friends, surfing the Internet, doing part time work, doing assignments and reviewing for midterms always drag me out from the healthy schedule. I need to find the motivation factors to push me hard…
Motivation is so important that this expression can apply in other varied situations. In sport, cheerleading teams often shout out these words, or express this idea, to encourage the participants to keep working and competing courageously. Motivation is a key factor leads us to success.
In addition to great motivations, there are other essential elements that help to guide a person into their successful future. In today's complicated society, being successful is never an easy task, but involves the combined efforts of those factors. To illustrate, many highly-valued inner qualities like wisdom, honesty, creativity, a strong sense of responsibility, modesty, generosity, courage and kindness are characteristics found in most successful individuals. Outstanding abilities and comprehensive skills are also required.
Through this course, I learned much about motivation as well as coaching which will definitely be useful through out my life!
This week I am extremely busy. I have many lectures to attend (because my professor assigns some make up classes). Also, I need to prepare my presentations as well as research program with Dr. Udani. J We also get a leap project done last Friday. We delivered warm coffee at FBA lobby. Students showed gratuity to our effort. Happiness filled in my heart again.I feel very grateful because these opportunities are something that I cherished so much. During the weekend, I hang out with friends to enjoy the cool weather and beautiful old street in Macau. Friends were talking about the great changes happened in Macau recently. I have some thought-provoking ideas about the weekend’s short trip.
Macau used to be a quite city without too much people. During the past decades, there are too much big changes happened in Macao. Nowadays Macau’s prosperous commercial atmosphere might be appealing to many friends. The downtown area is made up of several grand-scale shopping districts.
Wandering on the streets there, people can visit numerous interesting stores with unique characteristic. Shopping there can be an enjoyable experience for shopping lovers. During weekends, shops are selling overseas brand-name products, fashionable clothing. However, the traffic jams during rush hours in Macau is terrible. On weekdays, people can be stuck in long queues of waiting cars and buses on the major streets. As a result, much time can be wasted in the early morning or late. Macau also has many beautiful churches which have long histories. We should make great efforts to conserve them. They are the diamond of the past which need our protections.
Recently, we are preparing the promotion month and talent show. Students in year one are very talented and excellent. We are looking forward to the potential HC2018 and their wonderful future performance! The main characters in talent show have been confirmed, I think it is going to be a great show, I am looking forward to April!!
This Wednesday, we spent an unforgetable time with Dr. Udani. With the company of a beautiful weather, we rode bicycles together to enjoy the lovely spring. Although we have lots of midterms, assignments and quiz in March, we relaxed a lot through this activity. During this activity, I feel happy and I am full of happiness now. We are just like a big family enjoying the bleeding wind and warm could. We helped each other during the short journey. What is more, I learned that in order to achieve happiness for myself, I have to try to make other people happy.
Truly, bring happiness to others results in the person being acknowledged as valuable. Indeed, in the world of humans expansive networks make for many people-to-people connections, No person is supposed to lead a completely isolated life. Therefore, this is no denying that one essential condition in achieving personal happiness to make others happy.
Happiness can be gained through the realization of individual values. From a psychology angle, a strong sense of fulfillment arise during the profess of helping others. Needless to say, no one wishes to be labeled as usefulness by people around him and if a person manages to make others happy, he justifies his value. Real happiness is to be shared rather than to be kept to oneself. It is hard to imagine how one could feel happy when others are trapped in deep sorrow and despair. Under such conditions, the only way out is to try one’s best to uplift their spirits. By instilling happiness into the sorrowful hearts of others, he will be blessed with the opportunity to eliminate unhappy circumstances in this own surroundings. Thus, the whole environment I improved.
Thosewho strive to make others happy will be rewarded by the very happiness they bring., Human relationships are mutual. As famous saying states, happiness is a perfume you can not pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself. Heartfelt gratitude and compliments from those who have been helped will add to a person’s felt esteem and happiness. Such a spiritual reward further assures this significant role in society. The way leading towards everlasting happiness is paved with endless efforts to make others happy. That is where the essence of happiness lies.
It is excited to start a new month after a Chinese New Year holiday! March is a tough month, endless assignment, projects, midterms keep piping up. Everybody is stressful and tired. I am also worried about my midterm exams because I am busy and do not have too much time to review the textbook. But we should seek happiness from ordinary daily life. We are all beautiful human beings here in this world trying to find our way. Every day we seek to be happy. In this busy March, we need find happiness and peace along the way. For example, after a tiring review process, I will hang out with my friends and enjoy a buffet together. In the spare time, I like to take a walk along the beautiful river in our university. I found happiness during the relaxation. I would like to share a poem about happiness to all of you: A beautiful old Sanskrit poem. Very moving and hopeful.
Listen to the exhortation of the dawn! Look to this day, For it is life, the very life of life. In its brief course lie all the Verities and realities of your existence. The bliss of growth, The glory of action, The splendor of beauty; For yesterday is but a dream, And to-morrow is only a vision; But to-day well lived makes Every yesterday a dream of happiness, And every tomorrow a vision of hope. Look well, therefore, to this day. Such is the salutation of the dawn!
Recently I also helps many year one students who wants to apply for HC2018. I am impressed because last year I was also a applicant who is dreaming of HC. I feel happy and meaningful to help others in this warm way. Also, I passed my TOEFL exam so that I can prepare the USA journey happily. Add oil to all of my classmates who is preparing the TOEFL exam!!
In a word, recently I am peaceful and grateful. My mind is tranquil,i allow peace into my life.I'm at peace with my world, and tranquility surrounds me as I bask in the glory of my life. I want to continue my peaceful life with continuous progress not only in academic but also in interpersonal skills.
Last but not least, wish all of you a happy festival of lantems!
This year I spent an unforgettable Chinese New Year. I went to rural area in Hunan province to see my father's grandmother. She is 90 years old now and she is relative healthy. It was the first time to see my grand grand mother. I saw some old photos which made me cry. My grand grand mother recognize my father and cried. It was almost 30 years since they met each other!! My grandmother also cried and we were moved very much! We should cherish the days spent with family! Each day is a gift…Remember, action is stronger than words! Lastly, happy new year to everybody!!
Two workshop were rounded offsuccessfully. Today is an unforgettable day. We held another workshop and made it successfully. To be honest, we did not expect that the participating rate will be that low, but in the end, we had a wonderful time. Although we have fewer people, we could get in touch with other people easily. I talked with many year one students through this activity and learned more about their university life. They were very eager to join the HC. I told them that HC is the place we can think, grow and be reborn. I also told them how to write a great CV and how to ask a professor to write recommendation letter. They were happy to receive all the information. I was also impressed by the wonderful performances of two students. They were brave enough to show themselves in front of us. I am looking forward to see all these talented people to be get admitted into the HC. Finally, the activity finished successfully in ablaze and amused atmosphere. Through this activity, I also learned a lot about leadership. It was a win-win situation actually. The themes today were motivation, support, persistency and gratitude.
The ice-breaking games and drama were designed very well and we enjoyed a lot. I gained some valuable experience about organizing an activity. Organizing an event can seem like an incredibly overwhelming task. And without organization and thinking ahead, it can be. Before the workshop, the rehearsal was not good. We could not find a place to make a rehearsal. It was a little bit chaos during the ice-breaking time. Fortunately, we finally made it. Through this activity, I understood that making sure things run smoothly was an important part in setting participants up to focus on learning and bonding with our fellow organizers.
After the workshop, aside from providing time for people to come back home, rest, and digest the material, it’s good to build off the positive energy and momentum created in the workshop experience to continue engaging everyone, and ideally transitioning into real action. This requires creating clear and efficient communications channels —Wechat group, Facebook groups, etc — and it requires modelling constructive use of those tools. When a workshop ends, no matter how tired we are, try not to disappear. We should keep trace on the year one students and help them get admitted into the HC. We also need to prompt HC to the whole university. We should not focus on what HC can give us. We should put efforts to give back something to HC. Helping to prompt and present HC to all the freshman is one of our major responsibilities.
Throughout the experience, from start to finish of organizing this leadership workshop. We are aiming to build a movement strong enough, large enough, and deep enough to transform our world and deliver what we have learnt to these freshman. We enjoyed all the processes we experienced and hoped to build another beautiful tomorrow!
This week, we had several wonderful activities held by our HC family. On Wednesday, many year one students experienced the excellent workshop of LEAP. All of us have made great effort to attract potential HC applicants. All the students had a great time and enjoyed our workshop very much. I would like to show the deepest appreciation to all of my HC classmates. They are so talented and creative. They have done a very good job! Congratulations! Next week, our group will be in charged of one part of another workshop. We are so excited to launch another wonderful workshop with the year one students. The theme of our part is “motivation”. We have prepared several shinning points about motivation which will definitely attract the eyes of year one students ;). We also prepared interesting and thought-provoking drama to demonstrate the theme of our part. I am looking forward to another Wednesday! Hopefully we can leave a deep impression to all the visitors!
This week we also conduct our third LEAP project. We are considering choose another place to convey our warmth and happiness. For example, we can choose to do the project at E6, which we can touch on more students and deliver our warmth and happiness to them. This time I met a year one student when I was doing LEAP project. She was impressed by our behaviors and willing to help us share the hot coffee with her friends. I told her that we would going to launch a leadership workshop on the coming Wednesday. I invited her to join us. She accepted me happily. She told me that one of her friends had attended our workshop last time. Her friend changed her attitudes towards HC since then. She used to think that HC students only have high GPA but low EQ. Now she regards us as energetic and helpful youth. I am happy to hear from different views about us especially something good J
One of my favorite writer once said that "The satisfactions triggered by a pleasant activity, such as going out with friends, seeing a movie, or enjoying a banana split, were largely eclipsed by those derived from performing an act of kindness." "Generating and expressing kindness quickly dispels suffering and replaces it with lasting fulfillment." When I read this, it hit me. This was exactly the reason why I was happy. Helping someone for 45 minutes in the morning is a far better way to be happy than watching a funny video or procrastinating on Facebook for 45 minutes. Also, we should appreciate what we have.– If we counted our blessings instead of our money, we would all be a lot richer. Happiness is there if you want it to be. You just have to see that it’s wrapped in beauty and hidden delicately between the seconds of your life. If you never stop for a minute to notice, you might miss it.
It is already Friday now! Nice weekend is coming! Let us enjoy our life and make good use of time. Although today’s weather is cold and bad, see, rainbow will be over the sky~
Another Wednesday, another awesome hc class with professor udani. Today we got started for our class by watching a thought-provoking video: a lost generation. Living without an aim is like sailing on the ocean without a compass. A good attitude and plac gives clear directions when one is faced with complicated uncertainties. Today's world makes every social member a sailor, who is riding waves under the complex weather conditions at sea. Therefore, as fresh troops constructing the future society, young people ought to have positive attitudes towards life. Personally I think I am not a lost one. Although life is not always full of happiness, I am lucky enough to have the ability to image and create happiness to myself and somebody surrounding me. I have the impetus to strive for my goal and are less likely to get lost on the way. I cherish every endeavor meaningful. Future is full of obstacles and mysteries, I am well prepared to move on into the next stage of life with a clear mind. During the class, professor asked me one question: who is your best friend ? Several names quickly passed through my mind. Yes, I am lucky to have many good friends in my life. In my childhood, my grandma used to tell me many stories about their " good old days ". They have all been etched deep in my mind. I could never forget them, even down to the smallest details. Those stories illustrated that the relationships between people at that time seemed to be purer and closer. As time goes by, I have gradually accepted the reality of these changes. But I am so lucky that I have made friends with so many good people in university life. Simplicity and openness may be the best words to define our relationships. I am willing to learn the superior qualities of the older generation and start to show more friendliness towards other people! Undeniably, true friends can be more helpful in the face of difficulties. A friend in need is a friend indeed. In our daily life, encounters with various troubles that have gone far beyond our own ability and power to deal with are unavoidable. At those moments, we may turn to our friends for help. Having a true friend by our side is just like receiving charcoal when the snow falls. HC classmates are also my best companies in my life. Spending time with them is definitely a time thorough enjoyment and pleasure. Altering hearing the life stories of my classmates. I was encouraged and impressed by their positive attitudes and smile. Smile make people stay younger and happier. They words lifted me a cloudy mood and made me feel easier to relax and refresh from daily pressure. Everyone in hc2017 has excellent talent. Each of them possesses some unique merits. Professor udani once said in this class, he called his mother every night no matter how busy he is. I felt ashamed. I did not call my mother for two days because of a heavy workload. But just as what had been said in the popular proverb," east and west, home is the best", family is certainly " where the heart belongs to". Indeed, the fast pace to modern life has deprived citizens of more leisure time to spend with their family. I realized that being with family is a happiness that far outweighs any successes achieved at work. Home encompasses the richest sources of happiness in one's whole life. It is the fundamental responsibilities of every meet of society to care about his family no matter how tight his working schedule is. If one only concentrates on his job and ignores his family, he is an absolute loser relative to basic social morals, no matter how tremendous his professional achievements might be. I will call my mother every night from now on. I hope I could do anything my family need. Last Wednesday we will hold our first workshop. I am excited to announce the interesting and meaningful activities to year one students. HC is really a good place for us to think critically, learn and grow. All these experiences I encountered in HC remold me into a better person. I appreciate what I have and I hope I can create more happiness for others!!
